WELCOME TO MY BAYAN AT SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE..

Hi my name is Fernando Renteria, I am 24 years old this is my 6th year at Southwestern college. I have been on and off from due to bad decisions which I a hoping to correct with the help of my Bayan brothers and sisters. I am part of the bayan learning community at Southwestern College. We are a group of 25 students who are together for 5 days a week in two classes, english-114 and personal development-10. This learning community is awesome. In the 5 weeks that we have been together as a class I have met wonderful people and most importantly I have learned about the Filipino Culture. I think as a Mexican American I can relate to Filipinos because most of our cultural values come from Spanish colonization. Filipino and Mexican people are much alike in language, religion, and family and cultural values.
