WHERE ARE YOU FROM??

I WAS LOOKING AT POETRY AND FILIPINO AMERICAN WORKS FOR MY ESSAY AND I FOUND THIS POEM BY DANTE BASCO WHERE ARE YOU FROM
THIS POEM IS ABOUT THE OPPRESSION, RACISM, AND PREJUDICE THAT "MINORITIES" FACE IN THE BLUE COLLAR SOCIETY THAT WE LIVE IN. I FEEL THAT THIS POEM COULD BE INTERPRETED AS "HIYA" TO THE BLUE COLLAR SOCIETY
ENJOY,,

  1. Thanks for this, Fernando. I didn't realize he wrote poetry, too,

You know who Dante Basco is? One of his big Hollywood roles was as one of the lost boys in the Robin Williams' version of Peter Pan called Hook. He's also the lead character of the movie Debut - I think John Acito talks about the film in his blog. Maybe we could watch Bosco's film one Friday as a class to talk about the chapters we're reading.
